The Trouble With Girls: 2001-2008

Smart and catchy hard rock for the NPR crowd

You can’t call it retro, but you can say The Trouble With Girls is decidedly and unabashedly Not Modern.

Taking its cues from a couple of melody- and energy-rich songwriting eras, TTWG marries the soaring, big-harmony vocal sounds of ’70s-era Laurel Canyon with a ’90s-inspired sunshiny guitar angst.

Take a young Ann & Nancy Wilson, make Temple of the Dog their backing band, add a few catchy pop elements, and you might have this band.
